Perfect Banana Cream Pie

1 fully baked pie crust- {I use my cream cheese pie crust recipe -baked for 15 mins at 400 degrees}
Whipped cream {I use this entire recipe- Simply Whipped Cream}
4 Bananas
3 cups of milk {I normally use 2%, but it's great with whole!}
1/3 cup of all-purpose flour
3/4 cup of granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon of salt
3 egg yolks, beaten {in a small bowl}
2 tablespoons of butter
2 teaspoons of vanilla

Over high heat, scald milk in a large sauce pan.  Reduce to medium heat, add flour, sugar & salt, stirring continuously until it becomes thick.

Add a small amount of the hot mixture into the 3 beaten egg yolks, then dump it into the saucepan with the rest of the hot mixture.  Cook for a minute or two longer.

Remove from heat & add the butter and vanilla.

Slice the bananas into the bottom of the pie crust & cover them with the hot mixture.

Let the pie cool completely before adding the whipped cream {it takes a few hours in the refrigerator}.
